Winterbank was inspired by a painting I once owned of that name. It was so evocative of the riverbank, the gurgling full stream, the frost canopy supported on the bracken and broken grasses breaking crisply underfoot, that feeling of intense cold and the quiet air.

The colours which make up this piece rich brown black golden yellow are so true to the subject and they are applied in the form of crystals cane and straps which mimic the swirling waters, the bracken, grasses and the crystals of ice. Or is it just me?
