1 Aegean Stoppered Bottle
This flask rich in reds yellows greens and blues with silver leaf on the surface. The first and second gathers of glass are coloured with yellow and green/blue enamel, these gathers are then formed into a necked bottle. These are then allowed to cool slightly so that the last gather of glass can be applied, while very hot this is then dropped into a simple wooden mould which forms the folds in the glass. The whole thing is then blown and shaped

2 aegean Figform bottle
I am very pleased with this shape it reminds me of the delicious figs which grow on our splendid fig tree. The fig tree is quite remarkable the knotty branches which stoop to rthe earth and re root themselves and the hand like leaves which dance all over. It is so luscious during the Summer and in the autumn the yellow leaves hang delicately on the odd branches and fall patterning the tree all around. As for the fruit how wonderful with a little cream.

3 Aegean Bowl
Bowls work well in this series because the light gets inside the bowl and because of the transpaency of the colour they can be read easily from the inside and the outside. Also because the glass in the bowls is different thicknesses you get the wonderful distortions of the form and colour.

4 Aegean perfume stoppered bottle
A chunky little perfume bottle, this richly sculpted surface is achieved by blowing the bottle while the glass is still very hot into a primitive steel mould. Although the mould is used each bottle is reshaped keeping the folds in the glass but refining the shape so they are always different because each colour application makes different demands on the shape.

Aegean Tincture bottle
I have a few small bottles found locally I think they were ink bottles and they gave me the idea for this one it could be ink it could be a tincture of something healing. The bottles I found were simply snapped off at the neck and no doubt once had corks, I really enjoy primitive simple things like this and its hard to know quite precisely why I always hope its not purely antiquity.
